Do you prefer the Swedish model or the Chinese model?
Sorry, no links, I don't mean THAT kind of model.

Sweden appear to have taken a balanced, common sense approach which allows society and the economy to function reasonably normally, whilst taking steps to protect the vulnerable.

China, as we all know, is a totalitarian state. Their model appears to be basically 'DO AS YOU"RE FUCKING TOLD, AND DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS!'

Britain currently appears to have a hard on for the Chinese Way.
People snitching on their neighbours for spending too long taking their rubbish out, or other activities in the street outside their home.
Police breaking people's doors down on the (incorrect) suspicion of an 'illegal' social gathering.
People being dragged away by police for eating pizza in the street.
People being JAILED for walking around a hospital videoing a lack of activity.

Better RED than dead, eh?

There's no place for that kind of reasoning on WHO, Charles.

Nor in society in general, it would appear.

The weather isn't so dissimilar to the UK this time of year.

I actually thinks it's more to do with population density and lifestyle. Many 18-25 year old Swedes live on their own, lots of single pensioners too. It's really easy to stay away from people here.
I also believe that a hot climate would be better for killing the virus, I don't imagine it would last long on a hot metal handrail in Thailand for example.

Chip, do you think a colder climate has anything to do with that?

I live in Uppsala for the time being. It's Sweden's 4th largest city, population of 250000 if you include the surrounding villages.
The streets are a bit quieter than normal but all shops remain open, though some have reduced opening times.
The supermarket shelves are full and if you go shopping before 9am you'll be pretty much on your own. Many people are working from home and the kids are in school. Life feels pretty normal still.
So far we have 40 dead and around 500 known cases. There hasn't yet been a significant rise in daily admissions for the last 14 days....fingers crossed that we've got it right.

China are probably lying.

Sweden will be an interesting one.

They're recording a lot of deaths now, but the longer this goes on the longer this "flattening the curve" thing is looking like it'll take a LONG time for it to drop significantly.

Check back in a year or so.

If Sweden's total death count is lower or even equal to everywhere doing lockdowns, then it'll prove that our draconian measures were misguided at best.

Indeed but I didn’t say or even infer this was all about Jews?

I merely mentioned the holocaust as that was a part of the ideology of the third reich that you suggested is resurfacing through a meme.

Re: Do you prefer the Swedish model or the Chinese model?
You're confusing 'celebration' with a warning.

The brutality currently occurring in Germany is reminiscent of the 1930s.

Not everything is about the Jews. Other people suffered there too.

Re: Do you prefer the Swedish model or the Chinese model?
Sorry, what exactly were you implying when you compared that story to the 'good old days' of Nazi Germany with a shit Hitler meme celebrating the third Reich?

Yeah, not really sold on that story equating to the ideology that drove Nazi Germany and the holocaust?

Good news for anyone not entirely sold on either of the proposed models.
It looks like Germany is returning to the 'good old days';

LoL

There's certainly an argument to be made in light of the hysteria in reaction to this that there's a great number of people out there that need locking up for good for the protection of all others.

"Communism through the back door" is a great documentary on how we got here.

Obviously they have a couple of big towns and cities where population is just as crowded, but overall it's a far less densely populated country than the UK. Don't really see why you have to go on the attack for my saying that. I'm not trying to justify what they've done.

As it happens I don't think they have been doing the correct or sensible thing there, but each to their own. Maybe they have a far greater trust in their population to be responsible and do the right thing without the need to be strict.

Anyway, I'm not getting into an argument about it.

So a handful of cases out of 65 million people equates to the UK being a totalitarian state does it, get a grip you hysterical Piers Morgan wannabe
